RAYA SHOPPING WITH ORPHANS AND NEEDY CHILDREN FROM PONDOK LEKIR

 I am happy to announce that a total sum of RM2196 was collected to buy Raya clothes for the orphans and needy children from Persatuan Manabi'ul Ulum in Lekir.
With money in hand, it was time for the shopping spree on Saturday morning.

 Cikgu Daniel was one of the lecturers who had volunteered to help.  Besides becoming the photographer, he also helped to drive a few of the orphans from the Pondok to the shop in Manjung.

 Puan Kamariah is helping two of the children to choose kopiah.  Looking on is Puan Umi, Ustaz Syed's wife.

 Puan Kamariah and I are familiar with many of the children at the home as this is the seventh year we have helped them to buy Raya clothes.

 Three of the students from KVSM also came along with Cikgu Maznah to help.

 After buying clothes and kopiah, the children went to Rapid Departmental store to look for sandals and shoes.

Paying for the shoes at the counter. A total of RM1713 was spent during the Raya shopping.  Two of the children on the list did not come for the shopping spree and so I might hand the money to Ustaz Syed to buy clothes for them later.  The remainder will be given to the children as Duit Raya.

PS RAMADAN ACTIVITY: VISITING OLD FOLKS AT PONDOK LEKIR

Like last year, as part of the Resource Centre Programme for the Ramadan month, I had planned to bring 36 of my librarians next Tuesday to visit the 60 odd senior citizens at the Manabi'ul Ulum Centre or Pondok Lekir to present them with festive goodie bags as well as to bring festive cheer to them. However, I was told that many of the old folks had requested to go back this week to their villages to celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri with their loved ones. They were supposed to only go back on the 27 day of Ramadan. As a matter of fact, about 40 of them had already gone back home and there were only 21 left. Puan Kamariah and I had to act fast and the both of us went out to buy kurma (dates) and biscuits to put into the goodie bags that we would bring along with us on Wednesday evening. Accompanying us on our goodwill visit were Tuan Haji Hasnin, Puan Norbazuaniza and her daughter, Yaya and two of my students, Atikah and Balqis. A few of the ladies felt sad that we could not bring along all the students as they had enjoyed their company last year. Sigh!!! Next year I will make sure that I plan the visit earlier so as not to disappoint the golden girls and also my librarians.

BERBUKA PUASA BERSAMA KELAB PERSONA MANJUNG

AHAD 5/7/12 - Kami menerima tetamu daripada Kelub kereta Persona Manjung untuk berbuka puasa di pondok. Kehadiran mereka sangat meriah seramai 50 orang dan mereka menyampaikan sumbangan makanan dan wang untuk pondok.Moga Allah murahkan rezeki mereka.

BERBUKA PUASA DI PANGKALAN TLDM

Khamis 2/8/12 - seramai 40 orang pelajar terdiri daripada fakir, miskin dan anak yatim telah dijemput berbuka puasa di Pangkalan TLDM Lumut. Kami dijemput dengan bas TLDM pada jam 5.45 petang. Semua pelajar dijamu dengan baik dan layanan yang sangat mesra, mereka. Terima kasih semua

SINGGAH SAHUR TV3 DI PONDOK

Selasa 23/7/12 - Satu lagi sejarah tercipta apaabila team Rancangan Singgah Sahur TV3 datang ke Kompleks Manabiul Ulum sekaligus merakamkan beberapa kisah pelajar anak yatim, miskin, muallaf dan warga emas yang ada di sini. Kami mengucapkan berbanyak terima kasih kepada semua krew TV3 terutama Kak Siti (Penerbit) di atas semua sumbangan dan kesudian datang ke tempat kami.

PELAJAR LELAKI SAMBUT HARI LAHIR MUDIR

Sabtu 14/7/12 - Pulang daripada menyampaikan zakat dan fidyah kepada fakir miskin di Pengkalan Hulu, Perak, jam sudah menunjukkan hampir 10 malam, badan terlalu letih dan mata dah nak terpejam. Tiba-tiba baru nak baring di katil, Fatahillah (anak) beritahu semua pelajar lelaki berkumpul depan rumah nak jumpa Ust Syed, apahal pulak dah! bergaduh ke budak-budak ni, angin pun hampir nak naik bercampur dengan keletihan tubuh. Buka je pintu depa kata "Selamat Hari Lahir Ust, kami dah terlambat ni, tapi kami beli kek", tengok di tangan Halim ada kek coklat nak mereka semua tersengih macaam coklat tu jugak. Ana mengucapkan jazakallah kepada semua pelajar, teruskan usaha menuntut ilmu kerana itu target kita biar berjaya dunia dan akhirat. Terima kasih semua.
